FUSION V3: Illuminating Urban Scars (2023-) is an ongoing installation that explores the relationship between resilience and adversity. Inspired by unfinished construction sites, it compares the cold, incomplete urban landscapes to the gentle warmth of starlight, symbolizing the hope and perseverance of people who endure challenges. The installation reacts to viewer interactions, using advanced AI to transform the scene—melting icy, unfinished surfaces to reveal strength and resilience beneath. A circular sphere represents continuity and wholeness, while AI-generated landscapes and urban elements are integrated into the design. As starlight shines, particles forming the Chinese character for "home" (家) move upward, inspired by the flowing beauty of moving sand art. Motivated by a desire to question what "home" truly means, our relationship to the land, and our deep emotional connection to place, this piece reflects themes of change, transformation, and the power of imagination, with a focus on how color and light bring the work to life.
